Arsenal are considering whether to make an offer for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, according to Media Foot Marseille.

The French website claims that the Gunners see the Ukrainian international as a cheaper alternative to Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta, who would likely cost a lot more to recruit this summer.

Mudryk is believed to be valued at around €20m (£17m) by Shakhtar, which seems to be a reasonable price for a promising young player who has recently made his debut for the national team at senior level.

The 21-year-old is right-footed, and he generally prefers to play off the left flank cutting in onto his stronger foot. However, he has also been deployed as a number 10 and on the right wing.

With the Gunners on the lookout for a winger, a move for someone like Mudryk does make sense, as he would add depth to Mikel Arteta’s forward line without demanding to start on a regular basis.
