REPORT: Arsenal Beat Off Late Challenges From United And City To Secure Deal For Brazilian Ace

Chelsea winger Willian has decided to join Arsenal, according to ESPN Brasil‘s Bruno Vicari. The journalist claims the Gunners’ offer of a three-year contract has been the deciding factor in him moving to the Emirates.

It has been widely reported that the Brazilian has turned down a two-year extension to stay at Stamford Bridge but, up until now, it was thought that the player had not made a decision on his next club.

Vicari claims that both Manchester United and Manchester City made late attempts to sign Willian in the past few days, having made enquiries to the 31-year-old’s agent.

However, it seems that the Brazilian international has made up his mind. It remains to be seen how reliable Vicari’s information is but we shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out.

Willian’s future is expected to be resolved after Chelsea’s game against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Saturday.
