Arsenal, Chelsea and Zenit St Petersburg are interested in signing Corinthians centre-back Robert Renan, according to Goal Brasil.
The website claims the three clubs have “already talked” with the defender’s entourage as they consider whether to make an offer for the teenager.
Corinthians are not expected to be willing sellers but Renan does have a €50m (£44m) release clause so it remains to be seen whether the Gunners will make a formal bid for the player.
The 19-year-old has only made seven senior appearances so far but he did start Corinthians’ last match against Athletico Paranaense at the weekend.
One interesting fact about Renan is that he is left-footed. Journalist David Ornstein has previously suggested that Arsenal are on the lookout for a young left-sided centre-half.
However, considering Renan’s lack of first-team experience, you would think the Brazilian Under 20 international is more likely to be seen as one for the future.
