Pundit Claims South American Starlet Could Be “Sold To Arsenal” After Being Dropped From Starting Line Up

Arsenal are interested in signing Corinthians winger Pedrinho, according to Brazilian TV presenter Neto.

The 17-year-old has been an unused substitute for Corinthians’ last five games, and it prompted Neto to claim that the forward may be heading for the Emirates:

“You have Pedro… Pedro I don’t know what’s going on. If the kid is going to be sold to Arsenal… I don’t know.”

It should be noted that Neto may be purely speculating, rather than actually having any insider knowledge about the player’s situation.

However, Corinthians have made some odd decisions with Pedrinho in recent weeks. He could have been in Brazil’s squad for the Under 20 World Cup but they decided against releasing the player.

The assumption was that Pedrinho was going to be playing regularly for his club instead, but manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo hasn’t given him any minutes since he was hooked at half-time during the 1-1 draw against Fortaleza on May 9th.

What else do Arsenal supporters need to know about Pedrinho?

Despite his young age, he was called up by Brazil for the Under 20 South American Championships earlier this year, scoring two goals and providing two assists in eight appearances.

At club level, Pedrinho has only played five senior games so far, having made his first-team debut against Santo Andre back in March.
