Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku is delaying his move to RB Leipzig as he is hoping Arsenal revive their interest in him, according to reports in France.
The Gunners tried to sign the 21-year-old on loan in January but couldn’t come to an agreement with PSG.
Since then, though, RB Leipzig have agreed a €15m (£13m) fee for Nkunku and were said to be poised to sign the Frenchman.
The player has, however, asked for more time to think over the move, with it being speculated that the Gunners’ previous interest could be playing a part in the delay.
Arsenal’s focus is said to be on signing either Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha or Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser with Nkunku very much down the list of priorities.
With just a month left to go in the summer transfer window, the London club have made just one signing so far, with Gabriel Martinelli having sealed a £6m move last week.
