Podolski To Join Campbell For Turkish Move?

Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski could join Joel Campbell on a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, as the German prepares for life on the bench at the Emirates Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsene Wenger has already purchased several names to strengthen the squad for next season, and will now have to sell some of his current crop of players to accommodate more signings. The manager has been positive about sending his players on loan to get experience, and it has worked for him in the past.

Campbell began his career with native club Saprissa as a youth player in 2004, and was signed on a professional contract in 2009. The 22-year old had a loan spell at Puntarenas before the Arsenal scouts declared concrete interest in the player. Wenger approved the evaluation of the scouts, and Campbell was signed on a permanent deal in 2011. The manager decided to send the winger on loan, and Campbell had spells at Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiacos where he improved his game drastically.

Podolski, on the other hand, has little room to find a spot in the first team, as players like Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have already taken up the attacking third. The German international was part of Joachim Loew’s squad in Brazil, but could only make appearances in the group stages, facing injury troubles for the rest of the campaign.
