Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaks Arsenal’s sprint stats, and you’ll never guess who came in third place

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed Arsenal’s sprint statistics via social media, and the results may just shock a few people.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker took to Instagram on Thursday to share the results after Unai Emery’s men enjoyed a bit of friendly competition in training.

To no surprise, speedster Aubameyang came in first place, while Hector Bellerin – who has also famous for his rapid runs down the right-flank – came in second.

Bottom of the pile were Matteo Guendouzi (who Aubameyang took great pleasure in mocking for his lacked of speed on Instagram) Mohamed Elneny and Lucas Torreira, but the biggest surprise was who came in at third place.

Just behind Bellerin, and ahead of the likes of Alex Iwobi, Alexandre Lacazette, Danny Welbeck and Henrikh Mkhtiaryan came none other than summer signing and renowned tug-boat Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

The Greek International, who signed from Borussia Dortmund earlier in the summer, came under heavy criticism for his performance during the weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Chelsea.

Sokratis was caught out of position for both Chelsea’s opener and their second goal, failing to track the runs of Pedro and Alvaro Morata, who got in behind the Arsenal defence with ease as the Blues went 2-0 up after just 20 minutes.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown labelled the 30-year-old’s display as “awful”, while Jamie Carragher also questioned the defender’s display and manager Unai Emery’s inability to play his back-line to their strengths.

Shkordran Mustafi, who was also criticised for his display at the weekend, came in fifth place, just behind Alex Iwobi.
