Paul Scholes Critical Of Arsenal

Paul Scholes Critical Of Arsenal

Paul Scholes Critical Of Arsenal The Gunners have been going through a rough patch even since December when they lost first place to Chelsea. Since then it was all downhill for Arsenal who are hoping to salvage yet another disappointing season by winning the FA Cup.

Some of the reasons for which Wenger’s side lost hold of things seem to have caught the eye of former Man United midfielder, Paul Scholes.  According to the Daily Mail, Scholes pointed out the fact that Arsenal lack a true leader and that discipline is definitely not their strong point.

The former English international also criticized his fellow compatriot, Jack Wilshere who according to the 39 year old, has failed to evolve since his Arsenal debut. Critiques came right after the Gunners lost two important points against Swansea. Scholes also commented on Arsenal’s poor performance against Chelsea while emphasizing the fact that Wenger’s current midfielders lack determination and discipline.

Scholes compared Ozil, Rosicky and Arteta to Vieira, Adams and Keown and insisted that attitude is a big part of the game. He also insisted that Wilshere, despite having all the necessary qualities to become a star, lacks the guidance of an experienced leader such as the ones mentioned before.

Scholes made the comments when working for Sky Sports as a pundit and he pulled no punches when he talked about the Gunners’ shortcomings. Manchester’s former player also took a shot at Gooners for whom he admitted to feeling sorry because of the way the team performs. There was a touch of irony in his words as it is hard to believe one of United’s legends really feels sorry for the fans of such a strong former adversary as Arsenal.
