Ozil Out For Title Deciding Fixtures

According to Metro, Arsenal will be without Mesut Ozil for their next three crucial matches in the Barclays Premier League, after the German sustained an injury in the UEFA Champions League tie against Bayern Munich.

The Gunners traveled to Munich to play the second leg of the knockout stage, and despite a 1-1 draw, it was the home side that went through to the next round of the competition on aggregate. However, the night went from bad to worse for Arsenal as Ozil was struggling for form as he has been over the past few months. If that was not enough, the German international was taken off at half time due to a hamstring injury that could rule him out of action for a month.

The summer signing has been playing throughout the season without any breaks, and this injury break could be exactly what is needed to revive his form. However, the next three matches come against Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester City. These ties could turn Arsenal’s fate in the title race, and Ozil’s absence could hamper the confidence in a squad that is already missing Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere through injury.
