Arsenal have added Norwich attacking midfielder Emiliano Buendia to their shortlist of targets for the January transfer window, according to reports in the UK.
The Argentine will be considered as a possible option by the Gunners, along with Red Bull Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai and Inter Milan’s Christian Eriksen as manager Mikel Arteta looks for a playmaker.
Buendia has been linked with Liverpool in the past, and the 23-year-old has shown himself to be very creative in the final third of the pitch, having contributed 30 assists in 90 appearances for Norwich. However, fans on Twitter are very much split on whether he’d be a good addition to the squad:
Much better than Eriksen.

Another scam footballer. There are a whole lot of creative players around but we’re signing a mediocre player from norwich

Aouar and Szobazlai > Buendia

Honestly is that even an upgrade? Going at this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if the gunners were tipped for relegation

I’m guessing you haven’t watched buendia lol? One of the most creative players in the prem last season for a relegated Norwich side. He’s a top top talent.

Why does nobody else care about Buendia except Arsenal? Literally NOBODY.

With Arsenal unlikely to match Houssem Aouar’s €50m (£45m) asking price in January, looking at cheaper solutions seems like a sensible decision. Both Szoboszlai and Buendia will be available for pretty low prices so either one would be a realistic target.
Buendia is reportedly not ruling out a switch to the Gunners, although it is thought that he will not force a move away from the Canaries.
