The 27-year-old, Jackson Martinez is one of the most sought-after strikers in world football today and is valued close to £30 million. Ever since joining Porto last season, the Colombia international has smashed in 38 league goals in just 44 appearances for the reigning Portuguese champions.

The prolific striker is expected to depart Porto either in January or next summer as the race for his signature hots up. Arsenal have become favourites for his services since Martinez has revealed his desire to play for the Gunners, claiming they would fit his style of play.

According to Metro, Martinez has revealed that he is an Arsenal fan and supported them as a kid, and also claimed that he would love to move to a big club like Arsenal.

He said, “I cheered for Arsenal when I was a kid – I love their style of play. It’s flowing and open with a lot of first touch passes. It would be suitable for a player like me. If I get a chance to play for a high level club like Arsenal I wouldn’t hesitate to accept it.”

Arsenal are expected to be busy in the transfer window since they are short on numbers in their forward department. With Martinez issuing a come and get me plea to Wenger, it seems only a matter of time before we see the hotshot in the Premier League at the Emirates.
