Low To Reconsider Ozil’s Chances Of Making It To The World Cup

Joachim Löw seems to have reconsidered his previous statements regarding Ozil. According to the Mirror, the German manager issued a warning in which he pointed out that time is running out for those who have not had a great season. Despite recently declaring that Ozil’s form is not a problem and that Arsenal’s midfielder will always be considered when it comes to representing Germany, Löw cannot ignore the obvious.

The Gunner’s continuous lack of form and most importantly, lack of efficiency and inspiration made Wenger drop him from last week’s game against Stoke. Ozil came on during the second half but had absolutely no impact on the game whatsoever.

It would be a shame not to see Ozil join fellow teammates Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker on their trips to Brazil. Arsenal’s 25 year old midfielder has made Joachim Löw’s list of players who seem to have hit a rut during the past few months. Fortunately for them there is still time to prove themselves. Hopefully the thought of missing out on this summer’s World Cup will be the extra motivation the Gunner needs to get through these tough times.

Löw jumped to Ozil’s defense after Arsenal fans criticized the German international for his weak performance against Bayern. Even so it appears he realized it would not be fair to leave out players like Kroos or Gotze just because the Gunner has had some great past performances for his country. Hopefully for Arsenal, the 25 year old will push himself harder in order to help both his club and Germany’s national team.
