The 22-year old, Antoine Griezmann is somewhat of an unknown entity, and has not been in the media’s spotlight like his young counterparts Mario Gotze, Isco and Marco Reus, who are regularly written about. Griezmann is currently playing at Spanish outfit Real Sociedad and is having a breakthrough season, as he has been one of the reasons why his club sit at an all-time high 4th position in the league table in the qualifying spots for the UEFA Champions League.

The 22-year old, who usually plays on the left wing, has been earning praise for his performances lately, and has also attracted the admiring eyes of Arsenal, as well as their North London rivals Tottenham. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to have made inquiries for him back in 2010, when Sociedad were still in the second division of Spanish football. It looks like Wenger is ready to rekindle his interest in the winger, as he looks to bolster his attack for next season by capturing the youngster in order to give competition to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ryo Miyaichi.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas too has made his interest known in bringing Griezmann to White Hart Lane. However, the two London clubs will have to fend off some serious competition, as there is some domestic interest for him in the form of Spanish juggernauts Barcelona. The Catalans are also reportedly monitoring him from close quarters, and might contemplate making a bid for him if they lose Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez in the summer as it is being suggested. There are also some rumours of Spanish striker David Villa leaving Barcelona in the summer, hence their interest in Griezmann to replace either Villa or Sanchez seems justified.

Sociedad will try their best to hang onto their star, and to try to achieve that, they have inserted a hefty £25 million release clause in his contract.
