Lehmann Gives Arsenal Hope

Lehmann Gives Arsenal Hope

According to the Evening Standard, former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has suggested that German champions Bayern Munich would fail to achieve such success in the Barclays Premier League as they have in the Bundesliga.

Bayern have set the standard for all club level teams around the world, and have only lost 4 points all season. Similar to last season, the Bundesliga title has all but been won by the club, and with regular signings from the second strongest German club Borussia Dortmund, that situation may not change in the coming seasons.

Lehmann was part of the Arsenal side that went unbeaten all season, and his former club will need a similar vein of form to overcome Bayern at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night. The Gunners lost the first leg of the tie at home by two goals, and will need to score two away goals to keep the tie alive. Lehmann has acknowledged the difficulty of the task at hand for Arsene Wenger’s men, but has given the London based club a chance to surprise the German champions on their own turf.
