Latest Arsenal Injury Report: Updates On Smith Rowe, Xhaka, Pablo Mari And Luiz

Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is a doubt for tomorrow night’s game with Chelsea due to a hamstring problem.

The 20-year-old scored the opener after starting against West Brom at the weekend but he had to be withdrawn just after the hour mark due to fitness concerns. At his pre-match press conference today, manager Mikel Arteta did not rule any player out of contention for the trip to Stamford Bridge but the nature of Smith Rowe’s injury means he is unlikely to be risked.

Granit Xhaka picked up a groin strain in the warm-up ahead of the game against Villarreal on Thursday, leading to a late selection change that saw Kieran Tierney drafted in to the starting lineup. The Swiss international also missed the Baggies match and he isn’t expected to be available tomorrow.

Pablo Mari is recovering from a sprained ankle but the club’s medical team anticipate that he will be back in training this week, so he could be included in the travelling party for the Blues clash.

Arteta has effectively ruled out David Luiz from playing tomorrow due to a hamstring injury, and from the sound of things, he may need a few weeks to recover his fitness.
