Latest Arsenal Injury Report: Updates On Luiz, Aubameyang, Tierney And Lacazette

Arsenal centre-back David Luiz is back in training ahead of Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg against Villarreal.

The Brazilian international has not played since the 3-3 draw against West Ham last month, after undergoing minor knee surgery, but he could return to the matchday squad for the trip to Spain later this week.

Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is back in light training, after recovering from Malaria, but it is still unlikely that he’ll be available for the Villarreal clash. A return against Newcastle at the weekend, or in the return leg on Thursday week is more likely for the 31-year-old.

Kieran Tierney is now expected to return before the end of the season. Manager Mikel Arteta had raised concerns that the Scottish international could be sidelined for the remaining fixtures but the medical staff are now confident he’ll be back within the first two weeks of May.

Alexandre Lacazette’s fitness is more of a mystery. The Frenchman injured his hamstring against Fulham and the club have said they will continue to assess the player ahead of upcoming matches. Whether that means they expect him to return soon, we shall see.
