Latest Arsenal Injury News: Updates On The Fitness Of Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Jesus And 5 Other Players

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is expected to be back in contention for the Gunners’ game against Brentford on Saturday.

The 24-year-old missed the 3-1 win over Burnley before the international break due to a concussion but Norway boss Stale Solbakken has provided a positive update on the player’s fitness, stating that the player is close to returning to full training:

“I’ve just come from a 45-minute talk with Martin. He is getting better and better and gradually stepping up. It has been more or less three weeks without any special training, so it is important to take things step by step. Both he and Arsenal probably hope that he is available for the Brentford match.”

Gabriel Jesus is back ready to play after nearly a month out with a hamstring injury. The Brazilian is set to feature when his country takes on Argentina early on Wednesday morning.

Updates on the fitness of 5 other Arsenal players

Ben White was rested for the Burnley fixture with manager Mikel Arteta stating that the fullback was carrying a knock. All the signs suggest that he should be back available for the trip to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Jorginho is also expected to be in the matchday squad. The 31-year-old suffered a head injury against Burnley but he has played for Italy during the international break.

Emile Smith Rowe has already been sidelined with a knee injury for three weeks, having been left out of the squad for the Carabao Cup tie against West Ham at the start of the month. An exact estimate on a return date wasn’t given for the midfielder.

Thomas Partey is set to return to training in the New Year, having undergone a procedure on a thigh problem. Jurrien Timber remains in rehab as he continues his recovery from an ACL injury.
