Lacazette Breakthrough!

Lacazette Breakthrough!

Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in the transfer window after Lyon manager Bruno Genesio admitted that the club remain open to the possibility of selling Alexandre Lacazette.

Lacazette recently signed a new 4-year-deal at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais, but has still attracted huge interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

The Frenchman has bagged a whopping 92 goals in 230 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, earning him a number of plaudits who believe he is one of the best strikers around.

Arsenal were known to have bid £30m for Lacazette last week, but saw this bid rejected by Lyon who insist on a fee of £40m+ for the 25-year-old.

Lyon then looked to be holding firm on the player and insisted that he would remain at the club for the forthcoming season. That was, of course, until manager Bruno Genesio said that ‘there are some offers that you cannot refuse’ when asked about Lacazette’s availability.

“He can leave if Lyon want him to,” said the 49-year-old.

“There are some offers that you cannot refuse. My desire as manager is that the best players stay and Lacazette is very important for the team.”

“I have been assured by my president that we will keep the player. You never know what could happen right up until August 31.”

Lyon’s president has previously stated that their star man is not for sale at any price, so it will certainly be interesting to see the upcoming developments.
