Khedira To Stay In Madrid

Khedira To Stay In Madrid

Wenger received some bad news over last weekend. It appears that Khedira will definitely no longer be leaving Real, despite the endless conversations and negotiations conducted between Arsenal and the Spaniards. Even if the clubs admitted to nothing, there are still sources that say a deal was definitely going to be signed if not for the financial incompatibilities. According to Metro, the German is sort of at peace with the fact that he will be staying in Spain. Not being able to become a team regular seems to have become less of a problem now that the situation has improved slightly since last summer. Most say that Khedira was not willing to drop his salary demands which were already extreme when compared to Arsenal standards,

It is a pity though that Khedira will not be coming to the Emirates. He looked like the perfect element needed to sort out the defensive side of the midfield for the Gunners. With Arteta in and out of injury, the German international would have been a major boost. The problem with Real’s midfielder is that he would not be able to play in the Champions League. This can be an additional issue aside from his price and salary which are similar to what Arsenal paid for Sanchez or for Ozil.

Signing star players is a difficult thing to do. Even if Wenger had the money, it will still be tricky to keep the locker room intact considering how old some of the players are within the club and how big of a difference will there be between their salaries and Khedira’s salary.
