Juventus are prepared to match Real Madrid’s €40m (£35m) asking price for midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalan newspaper claims Juve are now ahead of Arsenal, Real Betis and Valencia in the race to sign the Spaniard as the Bianconeri are the only team willing to pay the fee.
Mundo Deportivo have even revealed how much Juve are looking to pay Ceballos in terms of his salary, with the Serie A side “willing to offer” €4.5m to €5m (around £4m) a season.
The 23-year-old’s loan spell at the Gunners ends in June, although that could be extended to fall in line with the conclusion of the Premier League season.
However, the London club do not have a purchase clause included in the deal, which means there is nothing stopping Juventus putting a transfer in place for the end of the campaign. It remains to be seen, though, whether Ceballos himself is interested in a move to Italy.
