Jack Wilshere Reveals Whether Arteta Would Consider Signing Wantaway United Star

Arsenal academy coach Jack Wilshere does not believe that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta would sanction the signing of Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

Piers Morgan, who is an Arsenal supporter, recently conducted an interview with Ronaldo, and he backed the Portuguese legend to make a switch to the Emirates, but Wilshere doesn’t think that will happen:

“I don’t think Mikel would have him. No [I wouldn’t have him either].”

Wilshere knows Arteta very well as they were also teammates before he rejoined the club in a coaching capacity. For that reason, it’s probably a good idea to listen to his opinion on the matter.

Ronaldo certainly doesn’t fit the age profile of signing that Arsenal have been pursuing in recent transfer windows while Arteta himself has had his issues with egos in the dressing room previously.

Both Matteo Guendouzi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang didn’t last too long after falling out with the Spaniard so you doubt that he would welcome someone like Ronaldo into the squad.
