‘It’s Unbelievable’ – Carragher Highlights Major Problem That Could Stop Arsenal Finishing In The Top Four

TV pundit Jamie Carragher believes the difference in Arsenal’s home and away form could scupper their chances of finishing in the top four.

The Gunners have the third-best home record in the league behind Liverpool and Manchester City, but away from the Emirates, they are ranked just tenth.

Carragher thinks Tottenham and Manchester United could, therefore, pip them to Champions League qualification:

“If I was saying now and had to call it now I’d probably still go for Spurs and Man Utd. I still think that away form. When you say they’re not playing big six rivals, they’re the type of away games that have players and teams at the real top.”

“You look at Everton away, Watford, Wolves, Burnley late on, Leicester as well. Yes, you’re not playing United, City, Liverpool, but those ones, even a draw there now is not a good result, it’s that tight.

“It’s almost two a game away from home that they’re conceding, never mind a clean sheet. 27 goals, that’s an awful lot. The contrast with at home, it’s unbelievable.”

Arsenal’s form away from home is certainly a concern. They have lost just as many as they have won on the road this campaign. Their last two away games have seen them win against Huddersfield and draw against Spurs so they will be keen to continue that run when they face Everton on Sunday.

The Toffees are high in confidence following recent victories against Chelsea and West Ham, but their home record has been pretty erratic. This year alone, they have lost to Leicester, Wolves and Manchester City at Goodison Park, while before Christmas they were thrashed 6-2 by Tottenham.
