Sutton Thinks Arsenal Have Key Weakness That Could Be Their Undoing In Top 4 Battle

TV pundit Chris Sutton does not believe that Arsenal will finish in the Champions League places this season.

The Gunners head into the final eight games in fourth place, but the former Blackburn Rovers and Celtic forward thinks the club’s poor away form could see them lose out on the top four, along with Chelsea. When asked who will miss out, Sutton said:

“Arsenal and Chelsea. Arsenal are going in the right direction but their away form could be their undoing. At Chelsea, there is so much uncertainty.”

Arsenal’s performances away from the Emirates have been inconsistent, to say the least. They have lost just as many as they have won this campaign, having picked up just 19 points from 14 games on the road.

Their last five away games will be against Everton, Watford, Wolves, Leicester and Burnley; all of which could be a challenge to get three points from.

Still, if they want to clinch Champions League qualification, these are the types of matches that Unai Emery’s side have to win. They have drawn on visits to Manchester United and Tottenham this season so the potential is there to make significant improvements away from home.
