Arsenal legend Ian Wright has given his backing to the appointment of Mikel Arteta as the club’s next manager.
There have been concerns that the players will not respect the Spaniard due to his inexperience and when responding to a fan on Twitter, the striker said he doesn’t care what the Gunners stars think:
To be honest I don’t care what the players think – with my chest!!!!!!!

There’s no doubt that appointing Arteta is a big gamble, and it remains to be seen whether the move will pay off for the board.
He does know the club after spending five years at the Emirates, and he has been an invaluable member of Pep Guardiola’s backroom staff for over three years.
However, that doesn’t guarantee success as a manager, and the reports that Arsenal players already have their misgivings means Arteta will have to win over the dressing room and ensure he can get his ideas across much more successfully than previous coach Unai Emery.
