“I Support Arsenal…” Serie A Star Reveals His Allegiance To The Gunners

Lecce midfielder Morten Hjulmand has revealed he is an Arsenal supporter, and he’s delighted by the progress that has been made under manager Mikel Arteta.

The Dane is captain of Lecce, which is some achievement considering he is only 23 years of age but, despite enjoying his time in Italy, he admits he would love to play in the Premier League for the Gunners:

“I’m crazy about the Premier League, I support Arsenal. Arteta has changed everything in two years, the mentality, now they play very well. Great intensity. Greater than in Serie A which I like a lot because I see very strong players with so much quality.”

Hjulmand will not be at the World Cup and he hasn’t been capped by Denmark at senior level yet. However, he has been called up previously and it seems as though it is only a matter of time before he makes his breakthrough.

Other clubs are taken notice of his performances, with Napoli and Roma both keeping tabs on him and, considering he is a holding midfield player, it could be argued that Arsenal should be taking a closer look as well.

With Thomas Partey’s poor injury record, they could use some more cover in that position and Hjulmand could be a potential candidate.
