Arsenal are expected to be pretty busy during the January transfer window, with the club looking to reinforce their squad for a potential push for the title. One of the key areas that will be looked at is a potential backup for Thomas Partey.
The Gunners were scrambling for a midfielder on deadline day back in September, with multiple bids being submitted for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, but reports in Brazil also claimed that they had made an approach for Palmeiras’s Danilo.
At the time, the 21-year-old was not available but it is believed that he could be sold for around €30m (£26m) in January. Fans on Twitter have been discussing whether they would be happy if he was the only purchase in January:
Would take over Lokonga’s back up role. I’m not opposed to it. Another Brazilian on the roster

With how difficult January windows are, that would be a win in my book, getting one transfer signing.

And I am actually happy with that. Let's spend in the summer for better targets.

I'd take that.

Thats good no? If Mudryk really has a 50+ million price tag i would prefer if we’d wait a bit, get Danilo in, recall Patino , and ESR would be a huge boost to the squad

After hearing what the Shaktar director had to say about Mudryks price… I'm thinking you're right…i feel like Just Danilo would be good enough for now… So far as the rest of the team isn't injured in the world cup…

this would be the best option tbh. the others are starting to look not worth it… i’d rather not gamble on players who are way out of our budget and could end up underperforming.

Danilo has already had a very successful beginning to his career, having won two Copa Libertadores titles with Palmeiras. With Arsenal having had some success with bringing in players straight from Brazil in the past, he could well be another shrewd purchase.
