The representatives of Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli are expected to demand up to £200,000 a week in talks over a new contract, according to reports in England.
Gabriel Jesus is currently the Gunners’ highest earner at £265,000 a week, while Thomas Partey is on £200,000, and it is believed that Martinelli wants parity with the team’s best-paid players.
There has been a mixed reaction to the story on Twitter, with some fans feeling he hasn’t done enough to deserve such a salary, while others believe the demands are justified:
Bit too much. He needs to do more if he wants that money.

Usually, agents start with a high figure before lowering their expectations to a lower amount, but it does look like negotiations could be pretty lengthy.
Martinelli has expressed his desire to put pen to paper on a new deal, but it seems quite unlikely that the Brazilian international will sign the first proposal that is tabled by the club. Other teams, including Chelsea, have been credited with an interest but, with the player still having two years remaining on his current contract, there is no rush to get this done.
