AC Milan are favourites to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to reports in the English media. There were claims in Italy that Fiorentina are keen on signing the Uruguayan but it is thought that the Rossoneri are the likeliest to make a bid for the player.
The Gunners are believed to be open to selling the 24-year-old this summer as they look to free up funds for other transfers. Supporters on Twitter are hoping that Milan do make a formal bid:
Great news.
Torrera and Guendouzi sales to fund Partey, and keeping versatile, our own AMN would be fantastic business.— Agim Ymeri (@merdode) August 7, 2020
Something likeable about Torreira but this would be a good move for all parties imo

Good, he’s not quite cut out for our league, getting in someone like Grealish or Partey to replace would be heaven

Would be sad to see Torreira go – however if it means strengthening our squad I'm all for it.
Unai Emery completely destroyed his confidence playing him as a 10.

Hope we charge Gazidis a nice fee

I like the guy, and he had a banging first season but injuries and being out of favour at times with managers has hurt him. If we can get 25m+ for him and reinvest elsewhere I'll be happy…

Torreira has been linked on and off with the Rossoneri over the past year, and it does seem like the Uruguayan international’s time in England is coming to an end with the midfielder having struggled for starts since the arrival of Mikel Arteta as manager.
Considering Arsenal’s limited transfer budget, money from the player’s sale could well finance a deal for a potential replacement like Thomas Partey. His club Atletico Madrid remain adamant that the Ghanaian will only leave if a team triggers his €50m (£45m) release clause so any additional funds could be vital.
