Former Tottenham and Chelsea manager Glenn Hoddle has admitted that Arsenal’s young squad could well be competing at the “top of the league” in the not too distant future.

The Gunners have made big strides this season under manager Mikel Arteta, with a top-four finish very much on the cards, and despite the pundit’s association with rival teams, Hoddle reluctantly acknowledged that things are looking very promising for Arsenal:

“Arsenal have been playing well. They have got some very good youngsters coming through, who in the years to come, it chokes me to say it, but they may well be competing at the top of the league.”

It is definitely an exciting time to be a Gunners supporter. While it is wise not to get too carried away, everyone at the club does now appear to be pulling in the same direction.

Decisions in the transfer market have begun to pay off, while a lot of the deadwood that had been clogging up the wage bill has also been discarded. On the pitch, the team is in great form, and the goal will be to finish the season strongly to ensure they secure Champions League qualification.
