Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun scored after coming on as a substitute in a 4-1 friendly win over Millwall at the weekend.
The 20-year-old was joined on the scoresheet by Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Calum Chambers as the Gunners continued their pre-season preparations.
There have been reports from respected sources in recent days that Arsenal are keen on signing Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham for £40m, but many fans on Twitter feel Balogun should be given more opportunities before the London club splash out on another forward:
Yeah use Balogun, give him a chance !! why u gonna waste wages on a BTEC Danny Welbeck

We dont need Abraham

I don’t want Abraham. I think we should put faith in balogun and extend laca for another year until balogun is ready to take over.

?%. Abraham is not good enough for Chelsea, why would he be good enough for us? Balogun deserves his chance.

Give Balogun a chance… It's the least he deserves… If Arteta was going to sign another striker above him, he should have as well allowed the lad to leave on a free…

He must be given a chance to play

Yes, think they should save their money and invest in other areas

They're virtually the same player so why sign Tammy at all

The Gunners are only likely to pursue a deal for Abraham if the likes of Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah leave the Emirates this summer anyway so Balogun will likely still be in manager Mikel Arteta’s plans even if the Chelsea star arrives.
With that being said, Balogun will want to continue to impress with his performances during pre-season in order to push himself up the pecking order before the start of the campaign.
