“Get In And Buy Him” Keown Urges Arteta To Hijack Spurs’s Move For Spanish Speedster

Ex-Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes his former club should be vying with North London rivals Tottenham to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore.

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks but, after witnessing Traore’s goal versus Southampton at the weekend, Keown has told the Gunners to pursue the player themselves:

“I feel Traore is awesome at times and just for once, we have the satisfaction of seeing it. It’s a lovely finish from him. I’d sign him if I was a manager. Arsenal – get in and buy him.”

It should be pointed out that Traore’s strike against the Saints was his first goal contribution this season. Up until Saturday, the 25-year-old had not scored or provided an assist in any competition.

With that being the case, you have to question why any team with ambitions of playing in the Champions League would want to sign a player with so little end product.

Both Tottenham, and Chelsea for that matter, have considered Traore as a wingback solution and that makes a lot more sense than for a team like Arsenal who ostensibly play with four at the back.
