Alan Shearer Makes His Top Four Prediction As He Claims Rival Will Beat Arsenal To Final Champions League Spot

BBC pundit Alan Shearer believes Tottenham will beat Arsenal in the race to finish in the top four this season.

The former Newcastle striker has reversed his title prediction by claiming that Manchester City will finish 1st, with his original favourite Chelsea now finishing third behind Liverpool. When it comes to fourth spot, Shearer says he has been impressed by the Gunners but he feels Antonio Conte’s appointment at Spurs will sway things in their favour:

“Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea… I’ve been really impressed with Arteta and Arsenal and how he’s handled things. But Conte, going into Spurs, and with Harry Kane and Son up front, I think I might say Spurs into fourth position.”

Considering he was wrong about his title prediction, it’s probably wise not to put too much faith in Shearer’s remarks, but it will be a massive battle to secure the final Champions League spot.

Mikel Arteta’s side won’t just have to overcome their North London rivals, with West Ham also breathing down their necks. Manchester United, while struggling somewhat at the moment, are still only four points behind, with a game in hand, so they are ones to watch out for too.
