Hertha Berlin midfielder Arne Maier says he is flattered by reports linking him with Arsenal and Manchester United.

Reports in the German media back in September suggested that the Gunners were scouting the 19-year-old, along with United.

Speaking in an interview with a German newspaper, Maier was asked about the rumours, and he replied:

“I take note of that and that’s good too. It’s nice to hear something like that. “

However, when he was asked which club he would prefer, it seems that a move to Old Trafford would be more to his liking:

“Rather Manchester. In general, it’s my dream to play for a big top club and win titles there. But there’s still plenty of time left. ”

Maier has played every single minute for Hertha Berlin so far this campaign, playing in all 13 of the German club’s league fixtures, as well as two games in the German Cup. He only broke into the first team last year, following his senior debut in May 2017.

The teenager has also been capped by Germany at Under 21 level in recent months, having made his first appearance in a 3-0 friendly win over Mexico back in September.
