Gael Clichy Reveals Who He Wants To Win The Premier League Title Out Of Arsenal And City

Former Arsenal and Manchester City fullback Gael Clichy says he would like the Gunners to come out on top in the race for the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta‘s side are five points ahead of the reigning champions after fourteen games and Clichy is hoping that they can sustain their challenge and go all the way:

“City are really strong overall because they’ve been there for so long now. It’s been ten years since they’ve been consistent so you can’t just put them out but I think Arsenal have got a great chance. You know the next few weeks are gonna be really important and if there’s a team that can really challenge City this year, it’s them. They are doing everything impeccably since the beginning of the season and I really hope they can go all the way because it’s a club that deserves and a manager that deserves to bring success to this team.”

The injury sustained by Gabriel Jesus will undoubtedly hinder Arsenal’s chances of fending off City, with the Brazilian set to be sidelined for up to three months following knee surgery.

It is a big setback considering how important the forward was for the Gunners before the World Cup but they will have to make do without him.

Strengthening the squad in the January transfer window could prove key to maintaining their push for the title. Reports suggest the London club are looking to secure the services of Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk, while there could also be new additions in other areas of the pitch.
