Fabrizio Romano Confirms Arsenal Transfer Meeting With 2 Players Being Discussed

Arsenal will hold discussions about the futures of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira “in the coming weeks” according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian reporter says the Gunners will sit down for talks very soon about whether the two players will be sold or retained ahead of next season:

“They will have a meeting they always do this at Arsenal, and they will decide together about the future of players like Torreira and the same with Matteo Guendouzi and more, in the coming weeks we will know more.”

In Torreira’s case, it looks more likely than not that the Uruguayan international will be put up for sale, after not making a great impression during his loan spell at Atletico Madrid.

He has been mostly used as a substitute by manager Diego Simeone, while he was hauled off in a recent match at half time after a rare start against Cadiz.

Guendouzi’s future is less clear cut. The Frenchman had a falling out with Arteta and it remains to be seen whether the relationship can be fixed.  He has shown some signs of greater maturity whilst at Hertha Berlin this season but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll get a second chance at the Emirates.
