Emery Excited By Arsenal’s Chances This Season After Noticing Key Change In Training

Arsenal manager Unai Emery says he believes the hard work that the players have been putting in training over the last month is a sure sign that they can do something special this season.

The Gunners are currently fifth in the table heading into tonight’s game against Sheffield United but could leapfrog both Chelsea and Leicester in the table into third with a win at Bramall Lane. Emery feels there is big potential in the squad:

“I’m speaking every day with Raul [Sanllehi, Edu and the players. And I really think our way is going right and working well. And really now I’m very happy at the club. I’m really happy with the players.”

“The last two, three, four weeks, every player has been working very well. In this way, we can be positive and we can think we are going to do something important this year.”

Whether the performances on the training pitch translate to good displays on matchday, we shall have to wait and see.

With only Reiss Nelson now sidelined, Emery does have a competitive squad with a host of options to choose from, which should help him get results.

The return of Alexandre Lacazette after seven weeks out will certainly be a big boost for Arsenal, and fans will be hoping that the Frenchman and the rest of the squad are firing on all cylinders with a pack fixture schedule coming up.
