Cundy Labels Arsenal Fans As “Embarrassing” After Leaving Stadium Early

As a former Chelsea and Tottenham player, TalkSPORT presenter Jason Cundy is hardly an impartial observer so it was unsurprising to hear him criticise Arsenal supporters for leaving the game early against Olympiakos last night.

Reporter Ian Abrahams, otherwise known as “Moose” claimed that Gunners fans started leaving after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in extra-time, assuming that they would be progressing to the next round of the Europa League, and Cundy was quick to admonish those who opted to vacate their seats before the end of the game:

“That’s embarrassing. Any Arsenal fan that phones up now, who wasn’t there but has a season ticket, you’re part of the problem. Moose said, they were leaving before the end because they thought they were through. This is your best chance of Champions League football and they were leaving.”

Cundy’s opinion will hold little weight with the Arsenal fanbase. It was a disappointing performance all-round from the team last night, and manager Mikel Arteta has a big job on his hands in order to improve results and drag this team up the table.

Champions League football next season now looks like a forlorn hope, and the club’s only chance of silverware this campaign is now the FA Cup. They face Portsmouth in the fifth round on Monday.
