‘Could Finally Leave’ Arsenal Given Massive Boost As Report Details Club’s Plan To Sell 21M Transfer Target

Lyon will look to sell Houssem Aouar before the transfer window closes later this month, according to RMC Sport.

The French radio station claim the 22-year-old “could finally leave” the Ligue One side this summer and the club are even prepared to offload him “at a lower price” than their original valuation.

They don’t go into detail about what that figure is exactly but other reports have suggested that Lyon have been trying to offload Aouar for around €25m (£21m) in recent months.

If he is available for below that amount, Arsenal may well consider making a bid before the transfer deadline. Even though they are closing in on a deal for Martin Odegaard, they still lack options in central midfield.

While Albert Sambi Lokonga has been brought in, they have not really replaced Dani Ceballos, who returned to Real Madrid after his second loan spell in June. Aouar could well be seen as a good solution to strengthen a weak area of the pitch.
