Could Fabianski’s Form Make Wenger Drop Wojciech Szczesny For The Rest Of The Season?

Fabainski has rarely been Wenger’s first choice. Despite coming to the Emirates in order to claim the number one jersey, he has failed to seriously impress and cement the number one position. The Polish international who has been with the Gunners since 2007 was strongly linked to a move over the past few months. According to Metro, the man who fans once called “Flappyhandski” could become a permanent fixture for Arsenal at least until the end of the 2013-2014 season.

The 28 year old still has a lot to prove especially for a goalkeeper of his age. The Gunners’ staff were always impressed by his determination and intelligence during training sessions. Even so, the Pole seemed to have trouble during official matches. He was a completely different man when facing actual pressure. Lacking confidence is a definite deal breaker for someone who should exude confidence in order to motivate the entire team.

Things seem to have changed a bit during the last few months though. Despite rumors that predict Fabianski’s departure, his confidence level increased with each performance. It may be the fact that he is no longer under pressure knowing he will leave during the summer or it could just be that he finally has reached maturity when it comes to his game. Either way, the 28 year old has just become a viable alternative for Wojciech Szczesny who also has had some ups and downs since moving to London.

Fabianski managed a great performance against Bayern which could put him in contention for Arsenal’s next game.
