Arsenal remain in talks to re-sign midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports in the English media.
There had been claims in the Spanish press that Real were considering selling the 24-year-old on a permanent basis after being left less than impressed with the Gunners’ initial offer to re-sign him on loan for a second season.
Ceballos has since been told to join Real for pre-season training, but the player himself is believed to be keen on coming back to the Emirates. Supporters on Twitter are hoping that Real will allow the Spanish international to return to London:
Ceballos could be our best midfielder tbh

We should buy him because we need his sort of skills in midfield area

I don’t think it’s Ceballos who doesn’t want to stay unless he wants to be loaned out in Spain because clearly he has no place at Madrid.

It was reported that Arsenal had refused to pay the same €4m loan fee they paid last summer for Ceballos, while they are also reluctant to pay his wages in full.
The impact of the global health crisis has meant that the Gunners have had to cut their cloth accordingly, but head coach Mikel Arteta wants Ceballos back at the club so they are still looking to find a way to make it happen.
