Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has praised Mikel Arteta for his coaching ability. In a Q&A session on his Twitter account, the German international was asked to describe his relationship with the Spaniard when he was working with Citizens, and he replied:
We’ve had a very good relationship at ManCity. He’s a very empathetic, caring and hard working coach. https://t.co/FnbbdAUmpm

Gundogan is not the only City player to have praised Arteta. Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho have also been quick to highlight the qualities that their former coach possesses.
With that being the case, it is not a surprise that he has had a positive effect on results since he was appointed Arsenal manager back in December.
The 37-year-old is certainly still learning on the job, with the defeat to Olympiakos in the Europa League being a particular disappointment, but there is no doubt that the players are happier working under him than his predecessor Unai Emery.
Whether that will translate to success on the pitch when they return to action next campaign, we shall have to wait and see.
