White is very strong in terms of dribbling. Over the past twelve months, he is in the top 6% of centre-halves (in the top five leagues) for dribbles completed. In contrast, Saliba is not quite as good at keeping the ball when making runs (he’s in the top 15%).
In progressive carries, though, the Frenchman comes out on top. If a player has possession of the ball and takes it five yards forward into attacking areas, it is classed as a progressive carry. Saliba averages 5.4 per 90 minutes, while White only manages 3.05.
