Passing

Saliba

This area is actually the most difficult to really assess. On the face of it, Saliba has the higher passing accuracy (93% compared to White’s 83%), while he averages more progressive passes per game (4.15 to White’s 3.27).

However, in terms of chance creation, the statistics are heavily in favour of White. The 23-year-old is averaging 0.73 chance-creating actions per 90 minutes over the past year (which is in the top 13% of all centre-backs in the top five European leagues). Saliba has played fewer matches but he averages just 0.2 per 90.
