Belgian Youngster Gunning For Arsenal Switch

The 20-year old, Michy Batshuayi has risen to fame this season after a highly impressive personal campaign. The Belgian’s 18 goals sees him leading his domestic league’s goal-scoring charts and is primed to add to that tally, judging by his recent performances.

He has showed up on the scouting reports of several top clubs from across the continent, who are all aware of Batshuayi’s talents. It is highly expected that clubs will be making a move for him once the current season is over. He knows about the interest of multiple teams, and believes that he is ready to leave his home country and start developing his career abroad.

There were initial reports that the likes of Everton maintained an interest in him, but Batshuayi has himself spoken about his career and confesses that he instead fancies a move to one of Everton’s rivals – Arsenal. The ability of Arsene Wenger to unearth raw young talent and mould them into world stars is well known, and the striker wants to be the next one to be nurtured by Wenger, as the Express are reporting.

Talking about his future, Batshuayi said, “I don’t think I will play for Standard next season,”

“My preferred destinations are England or Germany. If you ask my favourite team, I’ll say Arsenal. It is a club with a good philosophy, where youngsters get their chance. I’ve been an Arsenal fan since I was a kid.”

With the Gunners understood to be considering drafting in a striker for next season, could young Batshuayi’s dream come true?
