Bayern Gift Arsenal By Pulling Out Of Draxler Chase

Bayern Gift Arsenal By Pulling Out Of Draxler ChaseThe young midfielder, Julian Draxler has been a long-term target for Arsenal, who have scouted him extensively over the last few years. Their interest was made public when manager Arsene Wenger himself praised the 20-year old highly, who in turn refused to rule out a move to the Emirates Stadium to join the growing German contingent there.

Arsenal also reportedly made a big money move for him in the January transfer window, but failed to sign him then as Schalke flatly refused to sell him mid-way through the season. It is heavily expected that Arsenal will be returning for him in the summer. What spoiled the North Londoners’ party and dashed their hopes was reports coming out into the public domain which suggested that Bayern Munich too were keeping a close watchful eye on Draxler.

There were fears that Bayern could easily steal him from Arsenal’s clutches, however it has been revealed by Bayern Munich’s chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that is not the case, write the Guardian. He was reported as saying, “We are not buying any player from [Borussia] Dortmund or Schalke just to hurt these clubs,”

“We are just buying players who can give FC Bayern more quality straight away. I can rule out that we will sign Julian Draxler in the summer.”

With Bayern’s withdrawal paving the way for Arsenal to get their man, do we see this exciting youngster donning the red and white of Arsenal next season?
