Arsenal have reportedly had a £46 million bid accepted by Real Madrid for striker Karim Benzema.

We’ve seen it in the news all summer, will he? Won’t he? Karim Benzema’s transfer saga with Arsenal continues to rumble on. The Frenchman has been a target of the Gunners for years. The Frenchman has long been touted for a move to the Emirates, with Arsenal desperate to recruit a world class striker this summer.

Benzema has scored 133 goals in six seasons with Real Madrid and there is talk that newly appointed Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez is ready to sell the Frenchman if the right offer is made.

Arsenal’s search for a striker has gone on all summer long, with the side only having Olivier Giroud as their out and out striker. Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck could potentially play a part up-front, but it is clear that Wenger sees them more as wide players.

There’s no real conformation that a deal has been struck, but with more and more reports coming through by the day, perhaps there really is something going on.

There’s no doubt that the signing of Karim Benzema would put Arsenal into a completely different shed of light. They would surely become favourites for the league, and could massively improve their chances of European glory.
