Arsenal Won’t Let Man United Sign Hummels Without A Fight!

According to a report in the Mirror, Borussia Dortmund centre-back, Mats Hummels is available for a fee in the region of £30 million and Manchester United have been chasing the defender since the start of the summer.

New boss Louis van Gaal is prioritising strengthening his defence ahead of the new season due to the departures of key players Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. He sees the World Cup winner as the perfect addition to his squad as he looks to bring back Champions League football back to the club.

However, van Gaal is not the only admirer of the 25-year-old as Arsene Wenger is also keen on a move for the Dortmund player. Wenger is searching for alternate targets in case central defender Thomas Vermaelen decides to call it quits at the Emirates.

The Frenchman still has adequate transfer money to spend big and is ready to make a move for Hummels if he becomes available. Arsenal will also be able to offer Champions League football to the Germany international unlike Man United, who play no part in European competition this season.
