Arsenal had scouts in the stands to see Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby in action against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, according to reports in the UK.
The Gunners were joined by representatives from four other Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle, with the France international said to be the main attraction.
Diaby would have impressed onlookers, as he scored the second goal to seal a 2-0 win for Leverkusen but, it must be said, he hasn’t been in great form in the opening weeks of the campaign.
The goal against Atletico is his only one so far this season, with the 23-year-old having played ten matches in all competitions.
Arsenal are on the lookout for a winger but it was reported earlier this year that Diaby has a €75m (£65m) price tag. Based on the evidence of this campaign, Mikel Arteta’s side may be better off looking elsewhere.
