It was a pretty straightforward win for Arsenal against Burnley on Saturday afternoon, barring a couple of hiccups along the way.
The Gunners managed to quickly restore their lead after the away side’s equaliser, while they also had to see out the game with 10 men after Fabio Vieira’s sending-off.
All-in-all though, manager Mikel Arteta would have been pleased with a well-earned three points heading into the international break.
Here are our player ratings from the 3-1 victory at the Emirates:
David Raya – 7/10 – made two very important saves in the first half.
Takehiro Tomiyasu – 6/10 – the Japanese international was generally good both in defending and providing overlaps when getting forward, but he went down too easily before Burnley’s goal.
William Saliba – 7/10 – nearly gave away a goal in the first half but Raya got him out of trouble. Scored the crucial second goal and made a great tackle on Luca Koleosho.
Gabriel – 7/10 – made a poor clearance before Burnley’s equaliser, but he was commanding in the air at both ends, being a threat at set-pieces, as well as clearing the lines when the Clarets pressed to get back into the match late on.
Oleksandr Zinchenko – 8/10 – played a pivotal role with a cross for the first goal, and then scored the third with a spectacular scissor kick.
Jorginho – 6/10 – the Italian was solid, if not spectacular, keeping the tempo up with his passing and breaking up play when required.
Kai Havertz – 6/10 – missed another gilt-edged chance with a header from a corner in the first half, but he was involved in the game like he was against Sevilla midweek.
Declan Rice – 7/10 – consistently winning balls high up the pitch and keeping the pressure on Burnley. Nearly scored with a powerful long shot.
Bukayo Saka – 7/10 – surprisingly back in the eleven after injury, and he got himself an assist for Trossard’s goal.
Leandro Trossard – 8/10 – scored the first from close range, and assisted the second from a corner.
Gabriel Martinelli – 7/10 – lots of endeavour but lacking the final touch. Typical of the Brazilian’s season so far.
Substitutes
Fabio Vieira – 4/10 – came on and got himself sent off with a dangerous high boot on Josh Brownhill.
