Toney is said to be keen on making the switch with the Daily Mail reporting that the forward is “coveting” a transfer to the Emirates.

The 27-year-old, who scored 21 goals in all competitions last season, has changed his agents recently, suggesting he is looking to leave his current team when his ban for betting infringements ends in the New Year.

Can Arsenal afford Toney?

Multiple reports claim that Brentford could demand as much as £60m for the striker, despite the fact that he is closing in on the final year of his contract.

With Arsenal having signed David Raya on an initial loan deal to stay within FFP rules, it is likely that Mikel Arteta’s side would have to fund a move for Toney through player sales.

Will there be rivals for Toney’s signature?

It is believed that both Chelsea and Tottenham are also interested in securing the forward’s services. However, it appears that the player’s preference is Arsenal.

Toney has admitted he is a Liverpool supporter, but in the same interview on the “Diary of a CEO” podcast, he also mentioned he has great admiration for the Gunners and the club’s fans:

“I have been a Liverpool fan my whole life, but I have liked Arsenal… I like watching Arsenal and how they play and kind of how passionate the fans are. But, yeah, Liverpool fan, Liverpool boy at heart.”

Toney clearly appreciates the support that Arsenal fans give their team and it seems the feeling is mutual based on the results of our poll.
